just tried the receipe for the enchantment potion and even with 80% on my alchemy perk AND 3 pieces of fortify alchemy armour i still only get a 15% enchantment potion.. if i brew a blacksmith one with another 3 pieces of fortify smithing i get 61% smithing potion. What ?

Enchanting and smithing potions dont reach the same value. With all perks in alchemy, skill 100 and 4 pcs of gear you'll end up at something like 31-32% enchanting pots and 130-140% smithing pots (dont remember the exact value).
If you dont plan on putting all the perks in alchemy its probably not worth to level alchemy altogehter if these 2 pots is all you want, as you can just buy 25% enchanting potions from a vendor.

enchanting potions of the 25% caliber are quite hard too find/buy.. you have to go to almost every vender in skyrim to try to find one.. the 15% ones are more common , well in my game it seems..

what does that equate out to when enchanting say a weapon, i have 35 hitpoint in fire on a ebony mace at the moment, it seems to be more difficult to get your enchantment any higher..

Then make an Alchemy Potion! And when you drink that, you make the enchant potion!

yeah , i havent looked for a fortify alchemy potion maybe try that..

bizarrly i just made another ebony chest armour wth 4 more health that the one i was wearing but its worth 500 gold LESS..?!!

and using the 25% skill enchantment on armour perk seems to cancel out any potion effects as the numbers just dont add up ..
