Pre-order packs unveiled

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:37 am

Matt just put up the pre-order packs on the blog: http://bethblog.com/index.php/2010/08/16/hunted-the-demons-forge-digital-pre-sell-packs-now-available/#more-10129

I'm generally not a fan of pre-order bonuses but I'll admit the Brink and Hunted bonuses look pretty neat. Two of these packs add extra bosses instead of just nifty early equipment and I'm not entirely sure what I think about that . . . but then these are probably nifty encounters rather than game-shattering event that have much impact on the game flow. A nifty encounter seems about equal to nifty equipment - that is they're fun but not having them doesn't take away from the game experience.

I may have to pre-order from Steam to get that Seriphine skin because I'll no doubt be playing E’lara most of the time and the Seriphine has actual pants! :D

Question about the the demon and assassin preorder packs. If my wife and i had different preorder packs would we be able to play the demon/assassin levels together or is that content exclusively coop for people that have the same preorder packs?

Thanks.

A few days ago, I saw this game on Steam and through about preordering it (even though the release date is yet to be announced on there) and I was mildly surprised to see that preordering the game gets you a boss, some new weapons, a new level, and what I thought was a new character. Reading more into it, I found out that:
A) It's just a reskin of E’lara (So no reskin of Caddoc?)
B ) It's unlocked AFTER beating the Campaign
I dont know about other people, but usually after me and a friend finish playing a 2 player Co-op game (Transformers Cybertron, Resident Evil 5) we usually never touch it again. Why play through the same game twice, especially since you only get a reskin of an elf to make her look human? And since it's just a reskin, I assume that "Seriphine" will have absolutely no difference in dialogue, cutscenes, or gameplay style

The pre-order pack you get from Amazon.com and Direct2Drive has a reskin for Caddoc but it to requires completing the game before you can use it.

It sounds to me that the other pre-order packs would be more your speed. I don't know if the equipment is available from the start but it does seem to be available for every playthrough and you do get stuff for both Caddoc and E’lara.

I'd most likely pre-order it, but I am going to wait til they set out a publish date first. Better to plan my expenditure before going for shopping rampage.

Does this apply for the PC version as well? Or will everything be included. If not I would like to know if I can get one map while my friend gets the other and then we can play both. Please let us know! Thanks!

Is it possible to combine multiple pre-order packs together?

For example, If I get the pre-order card from Best-Buy and then pre-order from Steam, can I use the bonuses from both at the same time?

Sorry for the double-post, but, any official word on this now that the Holiday is over?

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. For your patience, I offer a satisfying answer: You will indeed be able to purchase multiple pre-order packs and enable/disable them as desired.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I would like to know how applying the pre-order items will be handled. In the case of Steam will they be codes you enter into Steam and it downloads them like a DLC? Will they be thrown onto a CD and installed from there or a code entered into the game itself?

Also, on a sort of related note, will some kind of extra account be needed for this game that will act like a form of DRM and also manage the pre-order stuff as well as any future DLCs, etc.?

What will the DRM, if any, be? (aside from Steam)

Thanks.

Man, I sure hope these packs will be released as DLC at a later time, they all look good. Same thing with Brink.

As long as one of you has a pack, you both will be able to enjoy the level playing co-op.
