Pre-ordered this game and it doesn't even work.

I pre-ordered this game and looked forward to playing it due to my love of the ENTIRE Fallout series.

:fallout:

Naturally, I expected a handful of annoying and maybe even amusing glitches just like there were in Fallout 3, and yet to my surpise, I encounter a glitch that no one else seems to be having.

This game doesn't work. It stops at the main menu with no options. Bad deal spending $80 for a picture of an NCR Trooper and music. :poke:

Imagine the feeling of excitement upon getting this game, after waiting so long and finally getting it into your hands; placing the brand new disc into the Xbox 360, and installing it to the Hard Drive (like I do with all of my Xbox games) and waiting for the remaining time to slowly dwindle away. Watching the game start up, playing that emotional and intense music that builds up to the title screen, the visage of an NCR Trooper, and that's it. No options. No cursor. No game.

Anger, frustration, and disappointment. :swear:

It's completely unacceptable spending $80 (without taxes) on a game that doesn't even work. Seriously, even those generic Call of Duty games work on my 360, Fallout 3 did as well.

I am willing to bet that your disk is damaged. I would take it back to the place that you bought it and exchange it.

Nah, it can't be the disc, as I have already switched wtih 3 other different brand new discs to no avail. :cryvaultboy:

It's as if Fallout: New Vegas was programmed to not work on my Xbox 360, I have over 70 Xbox 360 games, and all of them work fine, except for Red Dead Redemption. :banghead:

You mean you've exchanged the disc and no matter what it won't start?.. Are you pushing the start button like it says to do on the main start up screen? I know that's a silly question but it'd be funny if that was the problem. You said it gets to the picture of the trooper and then there's music. That's when you press the start button. If the music is going and the game isn't crashing then that's all I can think of.. maybe the start button on your controller is broken.

Hahaha, you know, I actually thought it was my controller for a while as well.

I've used 4 different Xbox 360 controllers, 2 of my own and a Guitar Hero WT and a Rockband Guitar for the hell of it.

But at the point where I should be given the menu and options, it just sits there; I can return to the dashboard and access the guide so it isn't frozen it just sits there until I exit.

My original intention was to play this game alongside my friends with 3 tv's and Xbox's in 1 room, each joining a different faction and using different companions...
