Bah, mods usually svck anyway. The only way I can appreciate mods are if Bethesda makes them. When fan made, it just doesn't feel like it belongs. Nehrim *cough *cough.
I notice people are raging over this.. just to be clear.. Nehrim wasn't supposed to feel like Oblivion. It was an overhaul. It was a game all on its own. It didn't belong at all, because it wasn't part of TES. I can see you being disappointed in it if you thought it was supposed to be fitting in with TES. It would have been a bad mod if it had. A group of modders are also doing a recreation of Middle Earth. That will also not feel like TES.. to expect it to is kind of odd.
Mods are great if you understand what they're doing, and pick mods that make sense to you. For example Nehrim. It's completely separate from TES, and with that in mind, it's an amazing mod. Take something like player home mods. If they're not stupidly over the top, they'll most likely fit right in, and will then be pretty cool too

. I'm making a mod for my Dunmer ranger type character. I plan on "creating" meshes and textures from Morrowind that will be "almost" identical to the yurts that the ashlanders used. It's going to be so fun to see some ACTUAL Morrowind architecture in the plains of Whiterun after the Dark Elf exodus to Skyrim

. That fits in, and it will be awesome. Anime mods, and mods that add like WoW swords, or Dargon Age crap are kinda lame. I'm with you there. But if you look for quality mods, you shouldn't be disappointed. Right now I'm running a lighting/sky mod, and a water texture mod for Skyrim (not to mention a performance booster mod) and they all fit seamlessly into the game world, without changing the original game, and SOMEHOW (I'm a huge really devoted fan lol) improve on the vanilla experience. Don't let your modding experience be ruined by a few (okay thousands) of crappy mods

Also I'm looking forward to a journal mod for my characters to have a bit of prose to them, and a mod to add enchanters/smiths to the world, instead of the player having to do it themselves. (it doesn't really make sense for no one in Skyrim to be making steel armor for you to use, if you provide the raw materials, or no one to enchant said armor if you have the money and soul gem, during a civil war. Or during peacetime in Tamriel for that matter)
