Preparing for new DLC (are you?)

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 3:35 am

Right now, I have started a Shadow Mage from the beginning, level 1. Just getting into the game again, as I think the new DLC is very near.. so I won't be playing a old character that collected alot of dust that I remember very little about.

Are you "preparing" for new DLC? And how? How can you prepare? Why would you? :bunny:

I've stopped playing Skyrim until the new DLC is announced. The combination of no DLC announcement over 5 months after Skyrim's release, and playing vanilla Skyrim while waiting in anticipation broke the fun.

Not at all. I just think that unless these "huge expansion pack style DLCs" are significantly bigger than The Shivering Isles, we should have at least heard something by now. Apparently, the first expansion is going to be mindblowingly amazing to not even get a word about it yet.

Same here....well, not really. For now I'm just with an "use and throw away" Skyrim installation in order to test mods to include later with the definitive build of my character. And to betatest a certain mod I'm collaborating with.

But yes, I'm also preparing for it...I'm gonna build the final version of my character pretty soon. After a complete cleanup of my Skyrim install, of course :)

I've also not stopped playing entirely. Making BETAs for upcoming characters is a passion of mine.

Complete cleanup Skyrim install?

Yep. Currently I have about...52 mods I don't want cluttering my installation. So I'm gonna get rid of them before beginning the serious playthought.

Gonna keep http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/images/14975-5-1334204759.jpg though...looks deadly sick

Whether Skyrim is taking a Hiatus for you, or you're still chugging along with it, nothing can prepare you for the DLC :D

Night blade?
from the uesp.net site. Nightblade "Spell and shadow are their friends. By darkness they move with haste, casting magic to benefit their circumstances"

nightblade was one of the preset class's from Oblivion. ive changed it slightly for skyrim tho putting perks in illusion, destruction, restoration (necro mage), enchantment, alchemy, sneak, 1 handed & archery. am goin necro mage because hes a vampire aswell...

I started my dlc character near the beginning of April. I had already done a character for each guild and I went back and made my Serious Roleplay character.

Almost-Cliche Nord
Distrusts magic but has learned a few simple spells to save himself in an emergency.
Trained in smithing up to lvl 60. BUT only uses human weapons and armor.
Im nearly level 30 and Using a steel sword and wolf armor makes things so fun.
Only interesting enchants, soultrapping done by companion. Low enchanting skill makes minor bonuses. Nothing overpowered. (My "Lunar blade" uses the lunar forge enchant that only works at night, and makes a wicked green glow)
Completed companions guild and MQ
Roleplay: Overall good character, helps anyone who asks for it. The only thing that angers him is the Thalmor. Their sight puts him into a rage so bad he transforms and tears them apart.

Resolved to exploring the world around him to learn more (reads alot, different for a nord.)
Kharjo for companion... etc. etc.

I wont bore you with all the details

Suffice it to say my character is getting edgy waiting for another adventure.

Heh, my char is also a Nord, but differs in that his family has always been talented for Restorarion, Alteration and Mysticism (well, Enchanting now), thus he is as well. Besides, some ancestor of him brought them all sorts of artifacts and odd things. It's even rumored that ancestor was the Nerevarine itself :P

I'm making each specific archetype so once the DLC is announced I'll already have a character specifically for that DLC.

I have a roleplay Imperial, Imperial assassin, Nord warrior, and Breton mage.

If by preparing you mean playing the hell out of ME3, then yes.
The Companions are pissing me off; Vilkas won't give me his Purity quest except on rare occasions after Farkas' is finished. From a Roleplaying standpoint, this makes no sense since Farkas seems to follow his brother's lead and should only want to be purified after Vilkas deems it the right choice.
