Hey this is basically a continuation of the previous thread that discussed how you thought you would fare based on your region etc. If Fallout style attacks happened in your area

Stuff to discuss are:

1) How animals would mutate for example I live in the Uk and I think Pigeons and Mirelurks would overrun London.

2)What factions would emerge? I think Chavs would be the Powder Gangers of the UK

3) Where you would go/What would you do

4) What are you doing to prepare for the apocalypse etc....For example I am currently drinking toilet water and opening doors with my mind.



Stuff that CANNOT be discussed (if one wants to keep this going) are:

1) Politics- It destroyed the last thread and I don't want anybody to be Banned or have the Secret Bethesda Police at their doorstep.

While cats were wiped out in the Fallout Universe, If they were'nt, I think they would mutate into Lion Sized (I mean houes cats the size of Lions..) animals with claws that look like Deathclaw's claws. Lol.

OMG,oversize vulture-like pigeon using their bio-waste as range attack! RUN!

I think all Fallout cat just evolves into furrys....

Well I am thinking that mutated Crocs and gators might even give death claws a run for there money in contries that have a version off em hell these guys and sharks have been around forever and have not had to change that much forced mutation would make them Shudder .. Same as the Komodo Dragon heh a Geckos bad ass grandpa I imagine.. In fallout 3 the Point lookout expansion the boat captiany mentions Spouts as one of the dangers of sea travel... but never explained what that was so i was thinking its either vents in the floor of the water or maybe mutated dolphins or whales.. so what I get pretty much we ever you are or go something will try to eat you.. heh


I am a firm beliver that cats did indeed survive in the fallout universe no matter what anyone says Unfortunatly they all were mutated to have two butts so you need to change the litter box twice as often, so people just do not talk about them ...

Doors open on their own when they have to.
Necessity is a sufficient key for those locks.
No need to 'practice' drinking toilet water.
Anyone would if they had to.

I am boarding up my doors and windows because as we all know a few boards can keep out even a raider with a rocket launcher . Also I am downloading as many songs to my Mp3 as I can get even if i don't like them. Then I plan to buy a solar charger . I do not want to be caught on D Day with only three songs to listen to for the rest of my life . I stocked up on 308 rds because as we all know that's the only round that will kill about everything . I am not worried about candles or flashlights because as we all know the power will last at least 200 years . I have bear and cattle around where I live so I plan on having lots of bear meat ( I hope they don't change the name to some Japanese name ) and Cattle coarse they will be two headed but hey a burger is a burger .

on a serious side I am really planning to put in Bunkers with well water hepha air filtration and solar power .

Investing in hydrogen fuel cells: acquiring textbooks, pdf files, and the like, until doomsday... (or holotapes) come(s).

Trying to figure out this contraption that looks like a cheap drill press combined with a pill crusher. Looks a lot like a loading bench from NV, but I still have not figured out what it does.

Stockpiling freeze dried steaks, and copious amounts of di-Acetyl-Med-X (If you know what it was originally called, then that will make more sense if you use that name, before it was cut due to not being able to make 'M' rating because of that ONE word)

As for politics, I have only one position:

I think buying various REMs, vitamins, and powdered drinks, as well as water purifying tablets and a water purifier would be a smart move.

I'm practicing drinking whiskey and vodka.

Also storing cartons of cigarettes in random trash cans around Los Angeles.

Are we talking in real life? If so 99% of animals wouldn't mutate, they would just die. Most people would resort to cannibalism after a few years, perhaps even sooner.

also, if people can turn into ghouls, wouldn't we see ghoul cats, dogs, ferrets and monkeys etc.?

Would make an interesting location if they had a Ghoul run ghoul zoo despite how far fetched it is (SCIENCE!)

some of the creatures in fallout (1/2/3/NVM/VB/bos/etc..) are mutated by the FEV virus. we dont have FEV here.

maybe they could farm?

Yep, original canon stated that pretty much all of the mutated creatures from roaches to ghouls were from the FEV, not just radiation. This was changed a bit with 3 though. Without the FEV the post apocalypse would be no different than what you see in The Road, or Mad Max etc.

So no FEV means a dull post apocalypse.

Well, the stuff in Korea makes this worth thinking about.
1: Acquire Bunker.
2: Ensure Bunker is fully resistant to radiation and contains long-lasting LS systems.
3: Stockpile addition supplies, educational material, weaponry, ammunitions, and military training materiel.
4: Obtain Riot Armor, Gasmask Riot Helmet w/ Built-In NV Goggles, and a badass sand-blasted leather duster.
5: Retrieve an AK-47 from weaponry stockpile, and personalize it.
6: Wait for the Reds to hit us.

1) How animals would mutate?
Rabbits, deer, cows. I cant wait to see how that turns out. Maybe the Jackelope will finally become reality. Coyotes will mutate and we'll call them Chupacabras.

2)What factions would emerge?
This is Texas. We have tons of gangs, especially being a border state. I'm sure there will be survivalist militias also, and there would probably be a resurgence of the old CSA.

3) Where you would go/What would you do
Hide out until the initial blast was over, then go to Houston with some assault rifles and whiskey and maraud my way through town until i die.

4) What are you doing to prepare for the apocalypse etc
guns, ammo, water, fuel. don't need to save food I can eat animals and people.

First I would obviously build a fairly large bunker in the Cascade Mountains since I live in Washington. The main problem here would be irradiated bears and wolves trying to take a bite out of me. These are the steps I would take.

1. Get an illegal nuclear power generator and a stock full of uranium.
2. Make ten years worth of food for 20~ people
3. Gather up my closest friends and their family and my family
4. HUGE SUPPLY stock pile. Yes that includes weapons.
5. Kill anybody else trying to get in. I planned for only the people I remotely trust.
6. Let everybody else die in the nuclear holocaust
7. Emerge after 20 or so years with radiation suits and guns
8. Make a massive settlement
9. ???
10. PROFIT

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: around here I think the main danger would be from the packs of ravenous radpossums!
