Priest Masks... Light Armor?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:25 am

Was pretty bummed about this, especially the Morokei masks which is geared for mages. I wonder it this was an oversight.

Reason... because with it I can't use the mask with the mage armor perk for my cloth mage.

Also, found out leather boots are light armor... OOPS! Wondering why mage armor wasn't working for a while.

No wonder it hurts so much when my wife kicks me with those. ;-)

Each of them is different - some are light, some are heavy.

Yeah, but the fact that it's armor to begin with bummed me out. Especially the ones that are geared for mages.

I think they are all light or heavy, that is just the way the DPs rolled. I can't use them on my mage either, but my thief uses a light armor one constantly.

IMO, bethesda really needs to take a relook at the masks and adjust them so that each of the three player types (warrior,Thief,Mage) can have at least one of them and not one that is just geared towards them like they are now but one they can truly use

There's a lot of mage items out there, including a very nice robe you get at the end of the College quest. It seems fair to have some nice armor items for hybrid characters as well.

I agree, but the dragon priest masks are part of the MQ and since the MQ is played through by all player types there should be rewards for all player types not just the warrior/thief side of the house.

I wouldn't call them part of the main quest, and Morokei in particular is tied to the College quest line.

There are rewards for all players, shortly after you get Morokei you get the arch-mage's robes which have Morokei's effects and thensome. It seems to me that there should be good equipment for spellswords, nightblades, and battlemages in addition to stuff for pure mages - and the dragon priest masks are some of the few items that cater to these hybrid classes.

Given the overlapping effects of Morokei and the arch-mage robes it could also have been intentional balancing that you couldn't use them both and get a boost to defensive magic.

There is a mod that removes head gear from the restrictions of Mage armor so you can wear masks, there is also another one where if you wear no armor, Mage armor is 100% effective, but if you put on like 2 pieces of armor now it's only 50% effective but still gives you more than an armor spells with no Mage armor, all of this is if you are on pc of course

i play a mage and don't even use that stupid looking thing, i just sell it...its stats aren't necessary,,,doesn't it give you magic regeneration? which is totally useless anyway pretty much, i think its 100 extra magic too, but you don't need that either if you enchant your own gear.
