Primm is a microcosom of the Endgame

Poor Primm. They lost their sheriff. What is a town to do?

You can do one of four things:

1: Appoint a sheriff that runs the place like a military bootcamp. The town improves via trade but chafes under the taxes.

2: Appoint a robot as sheriff. Law is a set of logic to him.

3: Appoint a wild west sheriff whose only law is "Be good or I'll shootchya dead".

4: Commit townicide.

Now... Why do those look so familiar? They look a lot like the primary endgame results. #1 is the most obvious, the NCR ending. #2 is the House ending. #3 is the Indy ending, and #4 is the Legion ending.

I don't think #2 would be House though. House rules with order and efficiency if you choose to side with him. And the Legion takes slaves and kills those they deem unfit. I agree with you on the other two points, but I thought Primm more of a intro to the player having to make choices with a number of outcomes rather than a foreshadowing of the endgame results.

I can see how you could draw parallels between primm and the overal story but you could do that for a fair amount of quests if you tried to, I think its set up to give you your first taste of how your actions actually affect a group as well as getting to see the unintended consequences of your actions which can really be eye opening to new player that not only do my choices matter but I have to think through those choices to find the one I want.

How IS 4th the Legion ending? Although I would say it would be interesting to get the Legion to run Primm

If you get the ncr to run primm and let the legion win Hoover dam (AVE, TRUE TO CAESAR!!!!!) then legion takes over primm, no casualties just keeps a watchful eye.

Seriously, legion are the best ;)

Don't they wipe out Novac in their ending though?

For a "House" play through, I think appointing Primm Slim would be best. House can easily hack/gain control of him. If not, you really think he would stand a chance against the securitrons?!
Though I went with a "Full" NCR guy. I was pretty happy with the results.

#4 is not the Legion one.

And what about #5? Leave the town alone.

Although I would say it would be interesting to get the Legion to run Primm

You can.
