I think you would need to play the animation manually using PlayAnimation().

No I don't want to use scripts , the animation plays fine in the Nif file and is exactly the same setup of a normal banner animation but ingame it doesnt move and is static ... why that?

About the animation, do you simply replace a vanilla animation or create an entirely new animation for entirely new purpose?

Well, I don't know about that. If you're creating entirely new sequence, then you have to create the entry in Idle Animations window. Do your character stay in half-T or does s/he simply won't do the animation?

Oh, sorry, didn't realize it until you said it. I thought when you said "banner animation" it's a type of animation, so you're saying "animation a banner plays". My mistake

Try manually animating it. If you can do it manually, you know it works.

I know what you mean. It's working in NifTools, but not Skyrim. In Skyrim, you may have to animate yourself using PlayAnimation().

Hmm... If you did this same method for other animated objects, then I'm not sure why it's not working. Sorry.

I'm in a hurry, so the only thing I spotted in this moment is that you have no link to the branch with your banner in NiDefaultAVObjectPalette. Fix this and check whether it works in game. I'll have the time to check the nif in game much later.

Compare details of NiDefaultAVObjectPalette branch in original nif with that in yours. It is different and has one link missing (value set to NONE).

For the nif you posted, and I downloaded from #7 values of that palette are different from originals.

Anyway, what I did to fix your nif:
- deleted the whole BSLightingShaderProperty sub-branch from your NiTriShape and copied/pasted such branch from original banner
and it works, though there's some clipping there, as background geometry is slightly different (you can also see the clipping during animation in NifSkope)
