Problem with Arnlief and Sons?

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 9:37 pm

It just came to my attention that another player has had a problem with Arnlief and Sons being locked during normal business hours. At first I thought this was because I had started the Taste of Death quest and therefore Lisabet would be removed from the game until the dungeon was cleared. But now I am beginning to wonder if the DLC bugged Arnlief and Sons so it no longer opens. (Just like it bugged Breezehome's alchemy lab.)

Anybody else having problems with this store?

No, the store worked fine for both my characters who did Dawnguard, but both had been there before they started Dawnguard. Did you kill Lisbet?

No. Haven't even gone to the cave. Just did the Hall of the Dead part. (Maybe it will open after I kill her. I always kill the canibals. )

Well if you kill them, obviously the store is not going to be opening.

I had a similar problem. In the end I had to pick the lock during regular business hours. After that things went back to normal.

Thanks for the tip. I think I saw something like that in Oblivion too.

No, after you kill Lisabet, her assistant takes over. He also gives you some grief, telling you you have some nerve coming there after what you did. I always wish I had a dialogue option to tell him what I did was kill a canibal who was probably going to eat him next.

I have only found the store to be open once in my last half dozen visits! Whether it is Dawnguard related, I'm not sure, as I often found them closed in the daytime before DG was downloaded. (I'm on X box BTW).

I picked the lock and they were there. I am not sure if the problem will be fised now, but they live.

Strange both my high level characters did the Taste of Death quest yet never had problems, neither killed the canibals though.
