Problem With Raindrops

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:51 pm

As in the previous threads made on this subject, the problem is that the raindrops in the game appear as diamond-shaped objects rather than how they should look. Is there any way to fix this and, if not, is it possible to disable the raindrops effect, perhaps using svcklead's patcher? If it is possible, then how?I'm currently using an ATI Radeon HD 3600 video card, but I also have an Nvidia GeForce 8600 as well that I have not yet tested the game on. Is the problem unique to ATI cards, or does it occur on Nvidia cards also? Everything else about the game seems to function; this is the only issue that I've run into.

I think the problem stems from the fact that the game was developed for cards in use around 2005 (as well as being ported from the xBox).I'm not sure on this one, but didn't ATi do the graphics for the xBox systems? If so, then there shouldn't be any issues ;)As for the diamond shaped raindrops, the raindrops are rendered as 3d raindrop shaped objects, but obviously the refraction shader doesn't seem to be working. Not sure what caused this in the final build of the game but I prefer the older raindrop effect (2d sprite bubbles appearing on the screen) used in earlier copies.

So there's no solution for this? Ugh, it looks horrid... wish I could just disable them outright...

Maybe re-texture them ? I'm not sure.
