Since the new patch i can't load any of my saved games. The loading screen appears and the roulette wheel just keeps going! The task manager tells me that the game is not responding. Anybody else having similar issues?

Maybe a mod-related issue?
Probably a mod that got broken by the patch and that's now preventing you from loading your old saves?

I'm having the same issue and I have no mods installed. I go to load a saved game that has been saved since the patch, it I get the rotating roulette wheel and nothing loads. Also having the same pre-patch issues with crashing and file corruption on my older pre-patched saved games that still load.

I also have problems loading saved games prior to this 1.3 patch. It will show the loading screen with roulette wheel but never makes it past that. I tried verifying the local game cache through Steam and it keeps finding an issue with one file and re-downloading it every time. Per the pinned post, I've also deleted the .ini files as well, but that didn't change a thing. I've tried starting a new game and that seems to work fine. If I had known this was going to hose my saved games I wouldn't have installed the patch! I really don't want to start my latest character from scratch.

I had this happen once since installing the new patch. I restarted the game and tried it again and it worked, it's been fine since, dunno.

One very simple thing to try is defrag your hard drive. Use something like http://www.piriform.com/defraggler not the crappy program that comes with Winblows that can't even defrag individual files. Sometimes when you change/install/update software, resulting fragmentation can cause poor performance & other things. It's not likely, mind you, but never hurts to try...and Windows (if you're using it) loves to break up even tiny files into non-contiguous pieces.

Ok, I got my saves to load again. I did two things, one was update my nvidia drivers to the latest version (was about 2 months old), the other was to load an older save that was from much earlier within my time playing. Somehow, that seemed to do the trick.

Ok, I was having a similar issue that I have since resolved. The problem for me seemed to be the fact that I had downloaded the Dead Money DLC patch for the game prior to installing the 1.3 patch. Then after having played the Dead Money content for a while my Steam client recently updated to the 1.3 patch. Since that point I was unable to load my saved games. I updated to the latest nVidia driver for my gtx580 and verified my game files as indicated by the sticky and have the same results as the poster above in that it kept trying to download a file it thought was missing or corrupt. Anyway, this still didn't fix my saved game. In the end I found out what the problem was. After starting the launcher I clicked on the "data files" and I noticed that since installing the 1.3 patch my "DeadMoney.esm" file was unchecked for some strange reason. I checked the box, and started the game and blam, I could now reload my latest saved game.
