Problem with my screenshots, help?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:27 am

Okay, so my screenshots look AWESOME when I take them in JPEG form but in order to upload them to any website they have to be GIF or BMP Im pretty sure and the quality goes waaaay down. Is there a way I can turn them into BMP's without messing up the quality?

A website that doesn't allow JPGs? That seems strange.

Photobucket allows jpgs, I imagine most major image hosts do as well.

Are you getting JPGs and BMPs mixed up? BMPs aren't compressed, JPGs are - it's not uncommon for an image to lose some quality when turning a BMP in to a JPG but the opposite shouldn't give you these problems.

OP, how are your screenshots JPGs? Mine are BMPs, and while the quality is amazing, the file size is huge(almost 6MBs). I convert them into JPGs before uploading them, and the file size goes down to like 100KB and the quality worsens.

I'm pretty sure OP wants to convert his .bmps into JPEGs so he can upload them on a website.
Open the up in PS then save. Capiche.
You can use MS Paint as well but the quality will noticeably worse.
