Ok well let me start with my specs

6 gigs ram
1 gig graphics card ATI mobility HD 5850
quad core i7 q740

First it worked...at low FPS then i updated my catalyst drivers now it wont run and gives me an error the long one that essentially says something about openGL driver support.
But also now a few games also don't work, like CS and RIFT and Portal 2 and TF2 run, but amnesia and oddworld wont even start now the launcher freezes. so...wtf

and about processors i feared my processor might be the problem, its a 1.73 ghz but its a quad core, i thought this added up to meet the requirements, or am i wrong and even tho i have 4 cores its running super low and [censored]. I am use to Nvidia so catalyst kind of weirds me out and confuses me, and although i know some things, i know nothing about processors. Someone please inform me.

I would first try to revert back to your previously successful driver.

Next, the way I see it is that a Quad Core 2.0ghz (2x4) is essentially the same speed (as long as all cores are being used) as a single core 8ghz, however, being a quad core, it doesn't so easily get hung up by all the bits of info that needs to travel in and out of it. I would say essentially, you are a little low, but still possibly run the game on the lowest of low settings. Although I am unfamiliar with your v-card, but in order for your video to not get bottlenecked, you need a processor that won't bottleneck itself.

For instance, I run Brink perfectly fine with I would say graphical settings set to med.

I have 4 gigs ram
1gig ram pny nvidia gts 250 video card
intel core duo 2.5 (essentially 5ghz when using both cores)

I am open to learning, lmfao, in case I have gotten how multi-cores work. I didn't think that a multi-core would function like a raid setup with sata HDDs, mirroring every action to increase efficiency. (which might be... err my brain, where are my damn books, lmfao)
