Proto Hist Tree Thing?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:27 pm

Ok so over a month ago someone posted about something on the forum and a reply they got said that it was a proto Hist sapling, an Infernal city easter egg. I Googled but Skyrim is still new and has NO WHERE NEAR the amount of easter eggs documented as Oblivion. Just wondering where to find this at ingame if it is true.

Also if not has anyone found any Infernal City/Lord of Souls easter eggs or references?

If you talk to Ysolda in Whiterun she will mention the floating city of Umbriel at one point. That's the only reference I'm aware of.

@voice of reason: Do you mean the sleeping tree? Because that really isn't a spoiler at all IMO.

But as long as we're still on the subject of The Infernal City/Lord of Souls series of novels, I have a question to ask...
Spoiler
How exactly is it that the trees in the Fringe Gyre are related to the Hist in Black Marsh? Obviously they share a lot of similarities, but if they are related, how were the two strains separated from each other? In the epilogue of The Lord of Souls, Mere-Glim take Umbriel back to the home of the FG trees, which, (strangely enough) is not the realm of Clavicus Vile, but somewhere else entirely. Considering that their ultimate destination is peaceful and appears uninhabited save for the sentient trees, is it possible that Umbriel simply moved to another continent on Nirn, or even went back in time to a point where men, mer, and betmeri did not exist?
