PS3 gamers lose out again?

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 12:39 am

I am used to being screwed over by game companies as a PS3 user, a recent example is COD Black Opps which was pretty much designed for the Xbox with the PS3 and PC as an afterthaught, but this is very dissapointing! Why release the game for all systems then limit who can get the downloadable content, obviously some large $'s have changed hands but where is the loyalty? I have been buying and playing Bethesda games going back to Arena in the early 80s and this is just a slap in the face! I am sick of Micro$oft muscleing companies to their bidding but it is also up to those game companies to keep the playing field level by not making exclusive content not accessible by the other systems users! Really hope the money was worth it guys! :banghead:

"We're pleased to give fans a chance to expand their experience in Fallout: New Vegas this December with Dead Money," said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks. "The release of Dead Money illustrates our commitment to creating entertaining add-on content for players to enjoy in already massive games like Fallout: New Vegas."

Correction Pete, your committed to making some more $'s off Microsoft and completely block off a large segment of your market at the same time, congrats, your dedication to Microsoft is unwavering! You should change 'fans' to Xbox users btw!

/Rant Over!"

Well considering I played Arena when I was around 14 or 15 I was a teen and on a IBM 386 40 Mhz and I am now 35 you do the maths! Late 80's? Your thinking of Daggerfall that came out early 90s.

Make sure you go yell at Sony as well. They're taking a lot of money from you and apparently doing little to advocate on your behalf.

edit: Arena came out in 94.

Its all about money. Surely you know Xbox puts DLC very high on the important list? Its one thing they have got right for thier customers.

I'm old and feeble. Maybe so.

My math.. I was walking around in Sears back in the Early Eighties, 82 Or so, and saw this thing they just put on a shelf. It was a C-64 and there was two games sitting by it. I already had 2 different Atari Systems and when I saw this I was like... WHAT? I bought it right there and the two games. Solo Flight and Zork. Not even close to when Arena and Daggerfall would be released.

I then later in the 80s upgraded to an Amiga 500. Then as the Amiga seemed ( I was stationed in Europe for 8 years and the Amiga was popular there compared to here in the U.S.) to be going down hill, I finally switched over to a 386 and started on the never ending upgrade ladder of pc Machines and just about every console ever made.

I will say that by my math, that puts AES in the early 90s. I got Gridiron for my Amiga in the late 80s sometime, so that was a big step before AES for Bethesda. Mid 80s would have been first run games of Bards Tale and Ultima for me.

I don't really care about PS3, but I think the fact that it's not being released on PC and XBOX simultaneously like the add-ons for 3 were will put at least a little more pressure on them to put it out for the other platforms.
