Some other relevant information:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.

Gstaff, on 30 August 2012 - 06:52 PM, said:

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1413248-ps3-release-for-dawnguard-thread-23/# to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Additional information from Pete Hines in response to Dawnguard:

"Yes, it’s just doesn’t perform well in all scenarios. Some folks would be fine, some would not.”

One of Bethesda’s top PR execs, Pete Hines, (who holds the position of VP of PR and marketing), tweeted to a question that concerned the release date, saying, “No, we will not release it if we can’t get the performance to an ‘acceptable’ standard. Our stance on this has not changed.”

According to Gstaff http://www.bethblog.com/2012/10/04/hearthfire-available-on-steam/comment-page-1/#comment-278242:

Friday, October 5, 2012 at 10:57 am:

We haven’t given up. We’re still working to see what’s possible.

Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 10:15 pm:

Our team is still working to make PS3 content available on PS and doing everything possible to make it a possibility.

Well it seems to have been missed off from the OP but the 1.8.145 interface files are ready for PS3 DLC (check commit log of my UI SDK and particularly Translate_ENGLISH.txt).

Just posted in skyrim general discussion

Can't not be hopeful about these developments. But not getting overly excited until the patch goes live for PS3 and this data-mined functionality is a reality.

Impressive however, that thread is already to page #9! In what? 24 hours?

Well technically, the 360 has gotten both of its contractual 30 day exclusivity deals on the first two Skyrim DLCs. So the next DLC should release on the PC and 360 at the same time whenever that is.

As for the PS3, as usual we'll just have to see....

To what was being discussed yesterday:

Kill cams and mounted combat count as DLC?!? That is ridiculous. I don't even use mounted combat because the patch itself makes the game worse. And Kill Cams?!? That should have been in the original game because they have in two previous titles!

If that is what Bethesda considers to be DLC, they are officially the WORST game business in the western hemisphere.

You know a company is sad when they are clever enough to rip you off and avoid sue rather than fix thier product to a working standard.

Sad would be a company that can't fix their product because they run out of resources.
Pathetic and dishonorable is a company that won't fix their product because they focus their resources elsewhere and turn a blind eye to 1/3 of their consumer base.

You gotta be able to, and please pardon me don't want to upset anyone, separate the heavy posturing from the light posturing when getting info from Hines' tweets. Also throw in that aside from GStaff, i'm positive Hines is prolly the only other Bethesda honcho that reads quite a bit of what is written about this whole situation. You can tell that from some of his tweets.

If i'm not mistaken, when he tweeted his view on kill cams and mounted combat being more DLC-like than just patched in freebies, there was alot of traction with that idea in the Bethesda defenders around the web. You know on the web article pages that have the comment pits on them. I'm convinced he just grabbed that sentiment and ran with it more than actually believed it.

So i classified that little nugget as light posturing because it obviously was not true. I mean if it was, they wouldn't have kept up the pretense(and it is pretense imo until proof otherwise) of still working on getting DLC on the PS3.

Maybe Sony had them fix the original game in order to make the dlc work for ps3, but that would be too much to hope for.

Consider this: The XBOX 360 is getting a $50 price drop for the holiday season and it comes bundled with Skyrim. Now with those $50 you saved you can get DG, HF and the all new 360 exclusive "Dragonborn" DLC.

If you ask me, this looks like a great time to NOT give PS3 users any DLC :)

You've seen how many people have jumped ship. If I was a money worshiping bastard, that is what I would do

Edit: And to give you a final push, I would delay the release of patch 1.8 or make the game perform worse with 1.8.

This is not just the stance of Pete Hines. Bethesda also views it this way. The people that run the blog have defended his statements.

This is what i was trying to post yesterday. If you look through the coding...you can see where the PS3 DLC option is in there. Putting the Downloadable Content option on the main menu!! This is a good sign!
