I lean towards Xbox, simply because of wanting to compare my Achievements to my friends. Also there were some reviews that said the draw distance and other issues made the Xbox version of Fallout 3 run better than the PS3 version. For those two reasons I would prefer to buy the Xbox version of FONV.
However, I do not know as of yet if I can even play the US (NTSC-U/C) version of the game. Note, that Fallout 3's US release was compatible with European(PAL) but not The Japanese version. Although no one knows if FONV US will be the same region coding as FO3 until after it is already out. So I may be buying a game I simply can't play.
On the other hand one of the very best things about the PS3 is that almost nothing is locked out by region code! Got to love Sony on that! But that means no achievement points and still have not heard anything from Obsidian about the refocus on quality for the PS3 version.
I would wait to see if the Xbox version will work but I want the pre-order vault 13 gear! (though I don't know if even that code will be locked out by region?)
so... options...
1) I buy the Xbox version and hope that it will be compatible with my UK system.
or
2) I buy the PS3 version knowing that it will be compatible with my UK system and hope that the kinks have been worked out since FO3 and accept trophies instead.
Thanks for your input.
