Pushing you to join NCR

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:03 am

Wow is it me or is this game pushing on you to join with ncr...
Like 70% of the sidequests are with ncr or ncr allies..

I naturally joined the legion cuz democracy is [censored].

Ncr troops wont even go hostile to you if you kill alot of them.. its stupid.. The only way they will go hostile is if you kill the presedent of ncr or whatever.
Naturally i killed him because im in the legion.. so now i cant do 70% of the game...
Ill never join ncr even if i play the game again because it feels so wrong to me..

So 15 hours into the game on hardest difficulty and im done i killed everyone..
And like 80 of the 150 locations take like 4 seconds to explore because they are nothing but filler.

The legion has a few short side missions but nothing worthy at all.

I would think its a good idea to read this thread. Very similar mindset: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1128026-biased-to-ncr/

Everything is NCR isn't it. I've noticed that too. I'm also annoyed that Legion troops won't attack me even though I've killed many of them for the NCR. Only rarely will they ambush me out in the open wasteland, but usually just walk right by with weak death threats like they're scared to actually make a move. I hope this is a bug not a game feature, because it makes little sense.

Wouldn't say they "force" you - you can walk away at any time. At least they don't integrate them into the main quest like the BoS in F3.

I agree, though - democracy isn't what the Wasteland needs. More like more dakka-dakka-dakka.

Except if you make them mad, they send hitmen after you. Legion doesn't do that.

Yes, the Legion does. They very much do. Somehow I missed it on my first game, but my second game, BAM Legion Assassins.

I will agree with you that a large amount of quests containing to the NCR, but the game is not exactly pushing it at you...

It just seems that way because, currently, the NCR rules most of the Mojave. The Legion has no real base of operations or any major control in the Mojave, as they are operating on the other side of the river and are still trying to take over..

The NCR has bases everywhere and constantly needs help protecting its land at just about every Location.

If you want a pretty good opinion on the NCR and why there in such a desperate state of need talk to Cass. She can be very descriptive, and most of what she says is true.

Personally, If you side against the NCR I just see it as opportunity to get a lot more killing done because of large amount of there population in the area.

Think of them what you will, this is only my opinion.

Spoiler
They do if you breeze through The Fort with a Gauss Rifle and drop everything that moves, including Caesar.

After all of the buildup as to how much of a fierce warlord Ceasar was I was.... underwhelmed. NCR are definitely he major power in the game, Caesar doesn't live up to the hype.

Spoiler
Especially if one guy, his Gauss Rifle and pet robodog can basically take out him, his chief lieutenants and most of his army.

I didnt say they are forcing..
Its like this... ncr is a giant bulldozer and its slowly pushing you off a cliff and at the bottom of the cliff is the legion holding up a big game over sign for you.

I've seen Legionary Assassins but they weren't scripted to spawn on me and then give me a warning about how I should improve my relations with them.

If you piss off the NCR, you get 2-3 Rangers who come up to you and tell you you have 3 days to improve your relationship with the NCR or they will hunt you down.

All the Legion Assassins I ran into, even while Vilified for over 24 real-world hours with them, were just random NPCs that spawned in Legion Camps. And this is after I destroyed everything in The Fort, including Caesar.

Ah, it does happen, honest! I had a pack of four try to drop me with automatic weapons at the 188 post. Shame, I liked the people there but the two traders got taken out in the attack.

That's a very astute illustration of the Mojave's situation, in general. Accept the NCR or die by the Legion.
