Pushy Issue

Hey, well first off I've searched everywhere for this and was unable to find a reason/solution to my problem. So I've turned to this forum in hope of answers.
So here it is:

I recently started a second playthrough of New Vegas, going with the unarmed approach. I happened to stumble across a weapon called "Pushy", a unique version of the Displacer Glove I believe.
Anyway, I was excited to try out the weapon, but unfortunately I quickly learned that whenever I hit something with it (whether it be a creature, person or even a wall) my game would freeze for about two seconds, before resuming function. This was very frustrating and it didn't take long for me to stop using the weapon. So my question is if anyone's been having a similar problem, or perhaps even a possible solution?

A few things to note:

- My game did run horrible in the beginning, but ever since the last patch was applied, I haven't had any problems (with the exception of a few odd crashes here and there) and my game has been running perfectly.
- With the above being said, on a few areas (only inside, like one of the vaults - the one with fiends), it will do the same sort of freezing/stuttering if I turn to the sides.
- I recently had my whole computer restored to factory defaults, with a techie friend of mine updating all the drivers and such, so I don't think it could be some odd program.
- When using the Zap Glove - which has a similar, lightning-like effect when striking a target - there is no problem whatsoever.
- I have no mods installed.
- I have not messed with any files (as I am clueless in these things).
- I have about ~ 140 hours of gameplay time in total. ^_^

I don't know. I give Pushy to Veronica and it seems to be okay but I've never been unarmed. It could be coming from the same bug that the lever guns and shotguns have where they delay on reload and in VATS. So many weapons, so many bugs.

Yes I'm familiar with the reloading delay for that sort of weaponry. However Pushy doesn't delay for me like that; it completely freezes the game.
If I try to turn around (or even if I don't) just after the 'lightning' effect has taken place, the game will simply freeze for a few seconds. It's just very, very strange. :unsure:
