Puzzles in the game

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:30 pm

Anyone bored of the only 2 puzzles in the game? Im all for puzzles to open doors or whatever, but it seems the only 2 puzzles in the whole game are the claw ones where you match symbols, or the rotating stone things that you have to match up

Both are dead easy to do and boring after about the 10 time of doing them

I've found other puzzles. Lever puzzles, glowing rocks to do in sequence puzzles, etc.

I love the puzzle, "find out which quest this non-removable item in your inventory belongs to".

Puzzles are not supposed to be hard for someone with a "functioning brain" according to the Lore.

Drauger and the like are supposed to be confused by the puzzles, not us.

I think puzzles are meant like minor obstacles, not something to have you think over for 30 minutes.

Ive seen these as well. Also needing to light something with a specific ingredient to open a door. But OP, the ones you are talking about are the most common. I have found that even some of those are harder than others, one time I could not for the life of me find the damn corresponding rocks, I looked it up and they were amazingly well hidden. Another time I found the answer in a book. Its a step forward from oblivion though, i do not remember any puzzles in that game.

I've found the puzzles satisfying. Too many puzzles and it makes the game tedious and frusturating. Though while I found the puzzles entertaining, I also found them "Easily Broken".

PRETAY BIRD!!!

PRETTY SNAKE!!

BIG BAER!!

MUST MATCH

YAY

that is the experience if you enjoy the puzzles in this game. Do I want uber extreme OMG WTF impossible puzzles no I don't but I would like at least one that makes you think for one minute or at least have more variants, 97% of the nord ruins has the puzzle described at first. The lever puzzels are just activate, activate, activate, open. Seriously the first lever puzzle I attempted all you had to do is get 3/4 levers and it was open. Hell the "puzzles" in this game can't even be called such they are running obstacles if anything.

Yeah, by the way - if the various crystal/metal claws are "keys" for the doors. . . if you are going to the trouble to secure a door with both a key, and a combination, why would you put the combo on the key? Doesn't that somewhat defeat the point? I mean, I guess even with the combon *on* the key, it still makes lockpicking the door harder. But, with three rings of three symbols, there's only 27 possible combos, so with just a little bit of patience, a would-be intruder could get past the combination. Oh, yeah, the combinations are never the same symbol three times, so we can make that 24 combinations. Actually, I don't think any of the combinations include a repeating symbol, which would reduce complexity to 3 * 2 *1 = 6 possible combos?

There are a few puzzles that are real thinkers, but none are super crazy hard which is good.
