SW Quadrant access?

First of all let me say how the invisible walls piss me off. This will be my last Fallout purchase...it appears as an unfinished game. I hate how it "funnels" me to where it wants me to go.
Anyway, is there anyway to get to:
1. The southwest area of the game?
2. Across the river to the far east portion of the game?

There might be a hole in the invisible wall somewhere but other than that no.

There are a couple places on the other side of river, one is very... unforgiving. And no, past the mountains, with the exception of Jacobstown, it is just blank space. This may make you mad that the map looks to be so much smaller than Fallout 3's, but it isn't. The pip-boy map is deceiving. It is taller than it is wide, and it actually equals around the same amount of space as Fallout 3.

You never know, they might be saving some of the bare areas for DLC?

I'm sure they'll be for XBOX exclusives only.

It annoys me also, but I shrug it off and continue on with the game.
