Hello Everyone^_^
As a veteran Gamer, My preferred Game happens to exist in the Quake Series(Quake 2, Quake 2 World, and Quake 4). But due to the age and other facets of these titles, I am not able to play them on a level on which I wish I could. I mean, I wish for the old Quake days back, when Quake was KING!!!!!!!!! A new release of Quake could bring about just that again, but is id Software thinking about Quake? I know they haven't put Quake on the back burner, being that they had put forth Quake Live to a wide, and receptive Gaming Community; but I am yearning for a more hardcoe Quake feeling, of which Quake2/q2w/q4 all have...

I have no doubt in id Software's ability to make a groundbreaking Quake, that can not only compete with, but override the popularity of games that lack the subtleness, artfulness, and skill-requirements of Quake--Namely, Call of Duty...

So then, has anyone heard of id Software thinking about baking up another Quake?????????

I believe I saw an article recently where id talked about it's ips, but I'm afraid I can't remember anything about it.

At the moment we know id is working on Doom 4, although the game hasn't been officially announced.

haahahahah i KNEW id wouldn't fail me. Long before Rage's release, id Software had officially announced in the Rage forums that they were done with making ips for "the next ten years." Now it has been rumoured that they are already on the onset of making Rage 2^_^ (along with Splash Damage making Quake Wars 2!!!!!!!!!).

At the Quakecon 2011, Carmack said they're were still thinking about the setting for the next Quake game and that a next Quake won't be out after a long long time, they're main priorities are Doom 4 and eventually Rage 2.

Which is a shame, I always felt that the key for Id to be back in buissness, would be to make a REAL successor of Quake 3.
