Quality Assurance Testers Needed!

Post » Thu May 24, 2012 10:47 am

Hey everyone,

With news that the CK is most likely being released next week, I figure it's time for me to gather up my Quality Assurance Testers for my current project. It's a very large project, so I will need numorous people. I would wait until later, but I find applicants are generally slow to filter in, and I usually end up with far fewer than I would like.

If you are interested in being a Quality Assurance Tester for my new lands/quest mod, please copy+paste the quoted form below and fill it out completely. Then send it to me in a message titled 'QA Tester Application'. There wont be anything for you guys to test for about a month or two, but once I finish the ground work there will be hours of content for you all to test. (Planned to add 15-20+ hours of gameplay when done)

If you're one of those people who hears 'massive planned project' and shy's away because these are never finished, let me say this: Look at my signature, I've done 3 full quest mods so far, and I'm doing this to get a job at Bethesda Game Studios. I'm very serious about this, and I'll be working 8-10 hours a day (NOT an exageration) on this project until it's done, hopefully sometime in July or August.

Real names are no longer needed! You guys have convinced me to go with the more traditional method of credit by forum username.

Current Testers: 23/30

Requirements:
- Own Skyrim for PC. (Obviously)
- Fill out the form below completely and message it to me.
- Do not talk about what you test whatsoever. This includes recording any of it, or talking about it with even your dearest loved ones.
- Have 3+ hours a week to test the mod.
- Title the message to me ‘QA Tester Application’.

Username:
*Email:
Estimated Available Weekly Testing Time (Hrs):
Do you have experience creating mods?:
Do you have experience using mods?:
Have you played any of my mods?:
Reason you want to QA test:
Would you be willing to sign up to an external, private forum to post bugs and testing reports?:

By filling out this form I agree not to disclose any information learned about this mod project to anyone. I will not record any of it, in either video or audio form, or discuss even the most minor of details.

*Any personal information provided to me by applicants will not be shared in any way, shape, or form. It’s for the credits or to make contacting you easier for me, personally.

I reserve the right to deny any application, or remove any accepted member from the quality assurance team at any time without warning or reason.

I know this looks oftely bloated and official, but in the past I have simply said things like 'who wants to beta test', and I get like 5 people, and 3 of them stop responding. So, this time around I'm being far more official, giving a month or so for people who wish to to apply, and screening the applicants far more. That makes the process easier for everyone involved, and far more effecient.

Also, if you guys don't mind post something in the thread saying you sent an application. Not only will this help me keep track of things, but it will prevent the thread from dropping to the lowest reaches of the forum.

Thanks,
Alexander J. Velicky

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Do you share your PC with someone else or something?

"Share" is not the right word. It is the PC of my husband. Mine is at the moment out of order (for playing games - grafic card crashed, so i use my husbands pc). I am playing when he is at work.

Uhhh, no that won't be an issue. Just tell your husband to ignore my mod if he plays, and to disable it before doing so. Though, like I said there wont be any testing for like a month, so if you're planning on replacing your graphics card you may have your own computer back in time. Though if you do swap computers at any point during testing, delete and completely uninstall the mod off the previous computer.

Application send, agree to all, maybe there will be a new card until your mod is ready for a test. Good luck, i think there will be a lot of Applicants and you will have a lot to read.

Well, since I'm really not sure how many applications I'll get or how legit most of them will be, I was going to wait to accept anyone until a few hours had gone by. So in maybe, 4-6 hours I'll review what I've gotten so far as a starting platform. That will give me a base, then I'll accept or deny applications as they come in from that point onward.

The Bethblog had a post and we had a huge discussion here. They are planning to get 1.4 out next week and are releasing the CK with 1.4, ergo CK next week. (Most likely)

I have almost 10 applicant already, and most of them look very promising! Keep them coming. I'd really like to have about 25 people testing total. (At least)

Hi,

I sent you an application too, if you're wondering about my forum activity, I might not post as often, but do check out the forums a lot and would post in case of a beta test. Just forgot to mention that in my application.

If I wouldn't be too busy with my own projects and other stuff I'd definitely sign up. For now all you're getting from me is supportive cheering!

Oh boy if I had gotten that many I would have flipped out! I'm still getting a fair amount, in the 24 window since opening this I've gotten about 15, so at this rate I'll have my 25-30 in no time, maybe even some extras!

That's what several people have said, so it certainly wont count against you. Noted! :)

Well, you sir, are welcome any day to peak at what I am making. I believe you were one of the people who helped me oh so very much in my noobery two years ago. I owe it partially to you that I've gotten this far. :D Whenever I feel down or unmotivated, I'll just imagine your cheering, then keep on going! :P

Are testers allowed to run any other mods at the same time, or must they be playing the vanilla game.

I will most likely do two testing phases, Pre-alpha and alpha stages will probably be tested without any other mods. However, once the mod is in beta, I will want to test for compatability, so any and all other mods will be allowed at that point.

That slightly removes my interest in possibly applying. I like palying with multiple awesome mods. Would i still be able to use lighting mods and texture mods if i were to apply and get accepted?
