I thought that 50 was the top limit (that's what the achievement inferred at least) but I'm now level 56 and there are probably players higher than that.

Skill level would be 100. You're asking about character level, which caps at 81.

I think you mean character level, not skill level. (D&D had about 6 or 7 different meanings of "level".) Skill level can go very high depending on which skill, due to some being more buffable than others. Character level max is apparently 81, not sure if anyone got there yet.

It will get progressively harder to level after you reach 50. But as already posted the cap is 81 meaning all skills are 100.

I swear I'm getting more forgetful as I get older. Just had a thought, if the level cap is 81 you could treat the cap as your characters age in a way. When you are young you wobble about killing Skeevers. When you are older you take on Ancient Dragons with ease (well sort of ease... just keep your running shoes handy).

In that case, I'm entering my mid-life crisis.

My character should be seeing dodgy young girlfriends and riding motorcycles racehorses.
