Query: Would demos be a good way to find bugs?

A thought just occurred to me, and I decided to ask the Fallout community if bugs for videogames can be spotted and killed with a demo release? While I don't think a demo could cover certain bugs because of not showing the complete game, perhaps they can depict mechanical bugs like incorrect calculations, clipping, hardware issues, and so on? A big reason why the initial release of a videogame reveals many bugs is simply because of how many people are playing through the game, so wouldn't a demo reflect this?
