Quest BUG?: Amethyst for Talen-Jei

ok I have 3 Amythst that I've collected to give to Talen-Jei at Riften for his wedding ring....but he's not giving the option to accept them.
the journal says "flawless amythst".....so am I doing the wrong thing? do they actually have to be "Flawless"??

Yes, they have to be Flawless, you will recognize them immediately (item name is Flawless Amethyst). Keep looking.

Yes, they have to be flawless. The "flawless amethyst" items are separate (and more rare/valuable) than the standard amethyst.
