I'm at the point where I spoke to Esbern and learned about Paarthurnax, gone through all the dialogue with both, but got no options to choose whether Paarthurnax lives or dies, Both Esbern and Paarthurnax still have active quest markers, is there a way to move this forward?

Can anyone help? I am unable to move forward until this is fixed.

The Blades just refuse to have anything to do with you until its done and the Greybeards will converse with you about it. As I began the meeting I remember hearing one of the Greybeards dialog further about Paarthurnax, but I cannot quote it. So, leaving that quest "open" by not killing him shouldn't stop the quest line from moving forward.

*adding* I did the same, I didn't kill him and I went back to the Greybeards they just said something about expecting The Blades to react that way so I shrugged and moved on and it didn't affect the quest line from moving forward*

So what's the point of the decision?, I was able to tell the greybeards I won't be killing Paarthurnax, and listened to what Paarthunax had to say, but absolutely nothing has changed.
