Question about crafting (Ebony armor)

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 5:22 pm

Hey guys, this is my first post here and I just have a quick question about crafting some Ebony armor. I'm wondering if it's possible to hit the 567 armor cap with Ebony if it's legendary and you craft it with enchanted gear and smithing potions. I would preferably like to reach the 567 armor cap without having to use the helmet. If anyone could help me out, that would be great.

Make fortify restoration potions. Mix them with smithing potions, then you will be able to craft armor fit for a god!

Thank you for the quick reply! I hope it's not asking too much, but you wouldn't happen to have any videos that explain this in detail? I've read a few guides but I'm still a little hazy on the crafting system.

I can't really share the vids since I am on an iPod, but you can check YouTube for many different methods.

I don't think it would be that hard because I use ebony too (I don't use the helm, I use helm of Yngol) and I use a different shield. My armor rating is around 430 and I didn't use any enchantments/potions to fortify smithing. My heavy armor isn't even 100 yet, only at 92.

I've gotten elven to the cap without helmet, so yes it is possible, but I abused a lot of things and it took forever. You should be able to hit the cap with alchemy and enchanting fairly easy with ebony though

There is no 567 cap for armor. There actually is no cap. I used restoration potions and then created ultimate potions increasing my smithing improving efficiency by 51648351651%. Then I upgrade all my armor and weapons and become invincible and eventually the game becomes boring when you kill everyone in one hit and can never die. With alchemy, (and other things) anything is possible.

Yes the number still goes up, but it protects you from 80% of damage, which is the cap, which is reached when your armor rating is at 567

Thank you very much for the replies guys  This is my second playthrough of the game because my first character was very messy when it came to perk placement.
