A question about daggers

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:12 pm

Do all the daggers in skyrim have the same stats for reach?

I am making a ranger that dual wields a longsword (right) and a shortsword (left). And because skyrim doesn't have shortswords I wanted to settle for either a long bladed dagger or a short bladed sword. Any suggestions welcome. And no I don't have a PC. Not yet anyway, waiting to see what the DLC brings.

Yes. All daggers have same speed and reach. They are faster than swords (1.3), and have shorter reach than swords (0.7).

Dual wielding with dagger on the off-hand has some advantages. The swing speed of dual attack and dual power attack is determined by the left hand weapon, while the stamina usage in dual power attack is determined by the right-hand weapon.

I do dagger in the off hand quite often. It feels pretty good to me, although depending on your enchanting, you may have significantly lower damage output than wielding dual sword.

Cool, thanks!

I like it but find the dagger just lacks reach. As I said before, would have loved shortswords. Longer reach than a dagger but not as fast, but still faster than a longsword.

Thanks for posting

I recommend getting the Elemental Fury shout unlocked asap and getting both tiers of the first two-weapon fighting perk, improved stamina power attack efficiancy, and spending a good deal of level ups in Stamina. Makes you able to dual attack as quickly as Sephiroth and you can do so multiple times. I could own any dragon (including Alduin) in less than 5 seconds on Novice.

Really? That's sad cause I can do the same but on Adept. Up to Ancients at least (Elder, Blood, etc.) easy DW kills. Surprised people even play Novice.. the game plays itself for you. What's the fun in that?
