Question about Dawnguard Vampires

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 5:03 pm

So there have been a lot of vampire and Dawnguard discussion threads recently on the forums, and seeing all of the news about Vampire Lords gets me excited. I just have a couple questions, and they are probably really dumb questions, about the Vampire Lords. First of all, do you have to be a vampire to become a Vampire Lord, or will the Vampire Lord just be a power that allows you to transform (dumb I know)? If the Vampire Lord is going to be a power, will you be able to use that power if you are a werewolf? Lastly, I read somewhere that in Dawnguard, if you have cured yourself of Lycanthropy you will have a chance to become a werewolf again. Does this have any truth to it, and if so, does that mean there will be wild werewolves?

1) not likely but it'll most likely turn you into one
2) Becoming a lord overrides being a werewolf but if you cure your vampirism and become a werewolf again, you will not be able to use the lord powers (but there is a werewolf tree)
3) It has been said that you can become a werewolf again if you never cured it but they haven't said anything about reinfecting yourself (it's possible though)

It's kind've strange how you can't just be a Werewolf after you've cured yourself. You'd simply need to drink the blood in the Underforge, yes?

It is strange that vampires can cure and reinfect their character an unlimited amount of times but werewolfs can't but don't worry, the developers have said that they have plans for the werewolfs

i wish they would add more oppurtunities to become a werewolf seeing that i can only find them at the companions and have to do quests for them. but being a vamppire is very simple and more likely to happen. with newer updates this could be fixed or added in. just an idea.

I take it as you've quite litterally killed your beast form (Beast soul) and it no longer exists.

i think the vampires are going to be wicked cool. i also read that a vampire lord has the ability to change into a swarm of bats, be able to suspend enemies in the air, and be able to change as long as he wants, whenever he wants, unlike the werewolf which can only do it once a day. and both werewolves and vampires are getting their own skill set. i think the vampire lord will be better than werewolves.

Yes you do have to be a vampire to be a vampire lord. There will be a perk tree for vampires, and werewolves.
No you can't be a vampire and werewolf at the same time one or the other.
Your final question I don't know, and have not heard anything on that.

This is true. It's in the latest game informer.

I think it's ridiculous that you can't become a werewolf again. I want to play as the Vampire Lord, of course. But I am a really big fan of Werewolves. And I know eventually I'll want to be one again. I don't want to make another character just to experience the Vampire Lord, or sacrifice the Werewolf that I'm so very fond of.
