Question about Dean : Fallout: New Vegas

So if I threatened to blow Dean up in the initial conversation when he has rigged the chairs, using the Explosives skill I think,

Just wandering, cuz I read if you insult him at any point, that is the outcome.

yes but compared to the ghost people he is very easy to kill howeevr if you wanna keep him arrive , argee to work with him.

Yeah, I goofed that one up myself and had to kill him.

Can Dean be saved at the end of DM cause I never saw an option to do so? Not that I really wanted to but was curious as Dean annoyed the hell out of me. He seemed rather dumb always monologuing his diabolical plans (which were often stupid anyways).

He can be saved, but you have to avoid any kind of confrontational dialogue with him, particularly during your first meeting - don't use any of the options that require a speech or skill check. Otherwise, you hurt his feelings and you're forced to kill him.

I saved him, although I felt the need to kill him when I found out he
[spoilers]put Christine in that autodoc to swap her vocal chords with Vera's.[/spoilers]
I had no option to insult him after that, though. For shame.

Imma just kill him next time.

Thanx for the hint, I definatelyy did speech checks with him and would through out an insult in the dialog tree or two so now I will try for the alternate on a later playthrough. Atleast I still have another ending to see.
