Question about Xbox 360 harddrives

NEW QUESTION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE THREAD

Well, this post might be long winded but I apologize!

So I just bought a new Xbox 360, 4 gig "hard drive" (go [censored] yourself microsoft), and I thought it had an actual HD on it. Apparently, it does not. I put in Halo 1 to play some nostalgic awesomeness, and I get an error message saying "You must enter an Xbox 360 Harddrive to play original Xbox games."
Uh, I thought I kind of have a HD? Apparently not. So..what does this mean for me? 4 gigs is NOT a lot, but can I buy a hard drive to put ON the new xbox? I don't see a place for a hard drive. I'm talking about the new http://www.gameguru.in/img/new-xbox-360-01.jpg Can you put a hard drive in this it apparently doesn't come with one?

Also, seeing as I now have 2 xboxes, the old version, and the new versions, what is the easiest way of going about putting my profile on my new Xbox? I want to put my save games/profile etc on the new xbox from my old one. How do you do this without xbox live?

I apologize for necro'ing this thread; but I have a new question.

I just bought a 8 gig flash drive so I can transfer my saved games and profiles to my new xbox from my old one, but how do I do this? Do I have to download some sort of program or something? Do I have to do something special with the flash drive to get it to work on my Xbox?

Vel don't worry, Necroing is usually when you bump a dead thread from months/years back.

Ah, so I plug it in first and then set it up on my xbox, not at my PC?
