Question and Suggestion about horses

Okay, so I'm playing a Dead-is-dead, realistic Breton (no HUD, doesn't do main questline, doesn't use magic, some carrying limits, wears the thickest fur armor, iron axe, hide shield, etc.). I mostly just explore, pillage/bandit, and do some quests befitting of a 'wanderer' type character (bounties, odd jobs for Jarls, etc.).

Now, I decided it'd be fun to buy a horse from Markarth, and proceeded to ride it up into the mountains of the Reach for a few Forsworn bounty quests. Unfortunately, my horse managed to get itself killed (though I can't say I regret it; 'twas an epic battle). I am totally aware that this horse is dead and it doesn't respawn.

My question is as follows:
If a purchased horse dies, is it possible to purchase a horse again from the same stables? (I bought the Markarth horse; I know I can get one from, say, Whiterun, but will there be another Markarth horse for 1k gold I can pick up?)

And will I be able to do this again (so, if my horse dies again, I can go back to Markarth and buy another, repeat the process, and so on)?

If that's not possible, I think this is a legitimate suggestion for Bethesda; there should not be a finite amount of ownable horses for the player (otherwise I'd have to do certain quests* which may not be in character after I deplete horses from all the holds).

Spoiler
Dark Brotherhood for Shadowmere, or the other one for Frost
