I saw that the new patch will have mounted combat.. Is this only accessible if you buy Dawnguard or is it just a freebie..?

Can the vampires also use crossbows.. I think they can but not sure..

It's free, and available for PC players as a beta over Steam. Though the final release isn't out yet.

It's features like that being added for free that make me love Bethesda. Also, their fantastic games. Those too.

Its a first i must say.. Its RARE to get free stuff out of Bethesda.. Example ~ Horse armor
And the developers of Witcher release free expansion packs.. But i must agree that this does allow me to like Bethesda more because of this, i hope they continue to do this..

And the developers of Mass Effect make you buy DLC the day the game comes out.

I hate Bioware lol... Never liked them but I didn't mind Mass Effect 1 or 2 but then it went down hill very fast.. Lets only talk about Good Develops

I was trying to avoid bringing up horse armor. RECENTLY Bethesda have been really good with that kind of stuff.

I didn't think it was free other than if you were a BETA tester on the Xbox or a PC user signed up to the similar BETA thing. I thought it would come with the DLC when you purchased it, although it wont be a completely seperate purchase like Oblivion's Horse Armour was, so I guess in that sense it's 'free' with the purchase of Dawnguard.

No, when the patch is complete, it will go out to consoles and PC, regardless if you have Dawnguard or not. As well, Todd hints at adding more new content into more free patches.

Its free with the 1.6 patch that will probably come out before dawnguard, Just as the killcams for arrows were free in a patch.

Let's not mention that, I think it's a bit of an old shame that they have since learned from...

Well in that case kudos to Bethesda, another reason to praise this company. It's worth noting how rare free giveaways are in the current capitalistic market that is gaming; yet something as awesome as mounted combat is being gifted to us free of charge. I'm impressed.
