A RP Question

My khajiit, Scarlet, is little confused....

How can she be the "top cat" of the Dark Brotherhood -- she really enjoys the hunt of killing the "dumb" Nords (her words) and others and the at the same time, spreading the love of Mara across Skyrim?

I need some help to make a good back story for such a char...

Thanks!

BTW, she was a vampire, but she is a werewolf now....

Side note: My profile pic is Haineko, a different Khajiit char that I have....

I tend to find that Skyrim is difficult to play using a heavily RP'ed character due to the amount of content you must cut out in order to keep in line with your character's storyline and morales- it was a lot easier in previous ES games where there was more variety with guilds. This is the case, it seems, with your character too- you don't want to miss out on a big chunk of content- but you also don't want to ruin the RP; alas, it is a conundrum.

To solve this, I tend to RP characters whom start off good/evil and then start speaking to people and doing quests which eventually begin to cause them to become evil/good due to the choices made. So, that could be a possible scenario for your character? Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help

Somethings I used this method: Every time I started a new quest line, I rewrite my char's back story, in a way I used a "new" char , but not make a new char so I still can use higher levels / skills. In other words, I recycle my char.. but this is not a good rp way to do this....

In Scarlet's case, she is really is evil, but only do "good" quest as a cover for her evil actions.

The way she sees it, she's helping Mother Mara. Everyone is going to die at some point - surely Mother Mara would want her to help that process along?

A bunch of Skooma would go well here. Perhaps she's ... Got a few screws loose?

In instances like this, I wish they gave you the ability to sort of define the organization once you take control of it. For instance, I have never really played through any of the Dark Brotherhood questlines (having played from Morrowind on) so I don't know from personal experience, but one of my friends told me that the DB in Oblivion had more of a Wanted feel to it, sort of like assassins killing to protect the greater good. That may or may not be true, but if you had the option to say work through the Thieves Guild and then make them strictly steal from the rich and be generous to the poor, that would give a good or heroic character more incentive to be in the Thieves Guild.

Obviously, none of this helps you in your current situation. I guess if you wanted to, you could RP that every contract you carry out was against someone of a malicious or unsavory nature, but that may not be an option you are looking for. Personally, I always destroy the DB and then just outright avoid the Thieves Guild. I hope in some future content we might be given the opportunity to attack the Thieves Guild as well (maybe Mjoll can be the main quest person for that?)

As far as not wanting to miss out on content, as far as the Warrior/Thief/Mage questlines go, if you obviously haven't picked perks for your character that suit those particular archetypes, I don't think you are missing out on anything by avoiding the questlines. By and large, the rewards specific to each category only really give the most benefit to someone who plays as that. That is an obvious statement I know, but it is something to keep in mind. The only thing that stinks is the game seems to force you into the College of winterhold no matter what you do. If you don't have crazy OCD like me, you can just avoid the quest after you do what you need to there though. Hope some of what I said helps!

she is a "super char" --- i used a mod to gave me 4 perks instead of 1 and she is at level 81.5 (max level) So she can be do anything and still be at the max power for that class / quested line. The next char I will make, I will use no perks at all for a change it up a bit. Yeah, I have to agree with http://www.gamesas.com/user/779531-solitudian/, she is 5 short of a 6 pack of skooma. I have a bad habit of sticking to one chat until a bug forced me to start over all. That is why I have 6 chars and about 1077 hours of game play thus far ... Thanks for the help, I still like to hear what other say to get more RP ideas....
