Questions about 4GB patch & Simple Borderless Window pat

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 8:21 am

I currently have the following patches installed for Skyrim (PC version):
  • 4GB patch version 1.4 by "Monochromewench"
  • Simple Borderless Window by "Liddo"
However, I have read that the newest Skyrim PC patch 1.3.10 has support for 4gb of RAM.

So my questions are:

Should I remove the 4GB patch version 1.4 by "Monochromewench" and update to the official Skyrim PC patch version 1.3.10? If so, how do I remove it, and how to I update the game through Steam to version 1.3.10? Also how do I check which version of Skyrim I am running to make sure I am running the newest patch/version?

Will the official Skyrim PC patch version 1.3.10 still work with Simple Borderless Window by "Liddo"? Because the Simple Borderless Window patch greatly improves the performance of Skyrim on my PC.

However, right now I am getting very good performance with Skyrim on my AMD 6970 Tri-fire graphics cards setup, so should I just leave well enough alone?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

1. Yes, you should. Just remove the files you copied over (actually you don't even need to do that, you can leave them there), but run the game normally through the normal launcher from now on. Steam updates the game automatically, to check either check the version of TESV.exe in Windows Explorer, or pause the game and go to the system tab. It's in the bottom left hand corner.

2. Yes, it should.

3. 1.3.10 does nothing but improve performance.
