Quests not clearing

Hey I usually don't do this but I thought it might help someone. A couple of my quests were all grayed out but not complete, leaving me confused about what more I could do to complete the quest. Both times it had to do with my companion, and me not talking to it enough. So if you have a quest that is incomplete but there are no more objectives lit up on the quest screen, try talking to whichever companion is involved in the quest.

I will say that it would help if the game was designed to have an objective or some kind of suggestion reminding you to talk to the companion. Also I wanted to say that the guide arrow on the objective that tells you to recruit a sixbot under the quest Wang Dang Atomic Tango does not really point you to the door where you have to go. I wandered around FOREVER and finally resorted to looking it up on youtube. I am sure that I walked right by that door but didn't realize it was a door or something (disappointing). The Ed-E My Love quest needs a few more helpful guidelines too, because you can't really communicate with him like you can the other companions. I am stuck on this quest telling me to go to the scrapyard, which isn't working. But somewhere online someone suggested to take him to HELIOS so we will try that.

Thanks Bethesda and Obsidian. I love Fallout so much!! My students at school tease me because I carry a fallout lunchbox. Yes, I'm a high school teacher. LOL

I had the same trouble with finding the sixbot abode lol.

And a note on ED-E's quest, wait 3 days between triggering (or trying to trigger) ED-E's "dialogue" not sure how essential this is, but I was having trouble advancing her quest and looked it up and this is one of the things mentioned. Also:

Spoiler
Talking to Old Woman Gibson at the scrap yard triggers dialogue, and the next nearest trigger location is Helios (the Follower sceintist), hence why the 3 day thing can be a pain.

Yeah, the ED-E thing is a glitch, plain and simple. The arrow keeps pointing to one character to speak to, but if you ever spoke to that character before recruiting ED-E, you can't go there for that step of the quest. You can skip to the next part, but the arrow doesn't move...

Aye there's a number of quests where they have arrows that point in unhelpful directions.
