Do energy weapons still cause ash piles? And do they still never disappear and cause major lag?

they do still cause ash piles, as far as lag goes i don't know, i wouldn't think so tho, i cheated to give myself some ammo, and i didn't know how to do more than 1 bullet at a time so i created 100 boxes with 1 bullet each around me and that didn't lag the game at all so i don't see how ash piles spread over the whole game would
