Honestly a game that featured Fast First Person Shooter parquor features like Brink that had a Call of Duty style Class system mode while maintaining a Decency for a class and size weapon system, but also included Quake Arena type mode that would be more about having Weapons and buffs spawn on the map. In this mode, everybody would be as fast as a light, but have medium health. You would start with something like the Kross, Weapons would be laying around the map such as the Mossington Shotgun, Rockstedi AR, Carb-9, Bulpdaun, and the Ez-Nade Launcher as the Power Weapon. Special buffs would be laying around the map such as Double Weapon Buff and Speed Buff. Health and Ammo Buffs would be placed in specific areas of the map as common necessities. Everything would have it's own specific respawn time.
The more Call of Duty style mode will feature different game modes all while allowing you to choose from 3 size types and 4 classes. Game Types would be centered around the Brink Campaign, After 10 Minutes, you switch sides. Game modes like Plant the Charge, Hack the Objective, Open The Safe, and Escort the Target would be much simpler to understand then an entire map. If anybody ever wanted to play the entire level, they would be able to do some by playing campaign mode.
Now, I don't want to sound Anti-Brink. I love Brink, I think its a shame that so many haven't seen the Gem that Splash Damage created, but the easiest way to make a succesfull game is to play it safe while adding your own flair to the game. When people play a game thats completely different from anything they've ever played they'll usually either go back to what their used to and good at and fail to adjust to the new change, or will enjoy it and will be convinced that it's the best new game on the market. Probobly the most secure way to make a succesfull FPS is to out-do what the competition does.
The good news is that a game like this could be easily be made by someone by creating a Mod of Brink. Bad news is Splash Damage may not let it ever happen... Ohhh well... :whistling:
So what are your thoughts on this, would you be content with Splash Damage ever Releasing a game like this? Would you sacrafice the objective system in freeplay mode and have a versus system with game modes like Arena TDM, Arena CTF, Arena SnD for Arena mode and individual parts of Brink maps for The More Call of Duty Type Mode? All of these would be based off of pieces of the Brink's campaign, but will be more Time, Pub kid, and Competition Friendly.
