Need some more tunes for R.A.C.E. or another custom radio mod? Just download these packs and you're all set!
I've been using these for my songs in tortured Tomato's excellent Radio Active Channel Extender mod which I HIGHLY recommend. They are already numbered to fill the songs in from track 50 to 100. Just drop them in the right folder and you're good to go! (see Installation below)
In these packs you will find 50 songs that fit perfectly into the Fallout - New Vegas style of music. They range from Swing, Blues, Jazz, Traditional, Country & Western and Popular music of the 40's & 50's. You've already heard many of the artists preforming these songs in Fallout 3 and in Fallout New Vegas' vanilla tracks. They were meticulously listened to and chosen to compliment the game's style and overall feel. They will range from melancholy, to silly, to upbeat "happy" sounds and most have hooks in them that directly apply to the game in various ways! Most were downloaded from the Internet Music Archive and the best I can tell should be in the public domain.
Also, due to the low volume level of the vanilla songs included in the game, these tracks have been "normalized" to hopefully give you a nice constant volume level compared to the vanilla. (Songs are either mono or stereo .mp3 format) If you find any that need further tweaking, please let me know! Enjoy!
INSTALLATION
While recommended, it's not mandatory to use the R.A.C.E. mod for these songs. If you're using another mod, just download these songs, rename the ones you want to use to match your custom radio's file format and drop them in the proper directory.
For R.A.C.E. - If you're using R.A.C.E. just download the files and unzip and copy/paste them to the Fallout New Vegas\Data\Sound\songs\radio\radio active directory. If you're already using the plugin for 100 songs this will fill in songs 50 - 100. (Of course you'll need your own tracks for 1 - 49) If you're using one of the other plugins for less songs, you'll need to determine what tracks you need and rename these to fill in your playlist.
