Many speculations came from the E3 interview with a director of idsoftware... The director insisted `the game will not be nothing like Fallout 3 and will only be around 15 hours long.
My personal opinion is just -- I think the game looks great, it seems intuitive, all the game elements see to clash inside the game well... I just hope the game wont be too easy.
Another reason people have been canceling pre-orders is because -- BRINK... Brink had a lot - A LOT of hype... Then it was released and you kinda feel like the videos were just to fool you, because all that interactive movement WAS a flop, that you never really used... The game interaction wasn't nothing new... The game only had that chaotic sense to it, because you have these tiny levels and everyone is elbow to elbow trying to do some fighting...
What I think is people are just wanting to ensure their money isn't wasted... Anyone I know have really hoped the game is just like fallout -- Customizable character; able to wonder off the story and explore / `Do their own thang; A massive world to free roam in; Numerous styles to play the game...
The only reason Borderlands is enjoyed so much, is because it is CoOP... People like to work together on the team... It is like that Zombies on COD
The audience is just really hoping the game will be a over 100hour gameplay title -- They also want it to be like a fallout3, but with a vehicle... Which all just sums up that people want a game
that takes a lot of time to finish and have a very personal approach in the game's directive. People want to assume to be conducting the story and not feel like they are just "following the line" or a set-fixed role.
Oh well... Half of it is just speculations and opinions -- People started doing the same thing about Duke Nukem Forever... You shouldn't knock the game until its out.
