Hello RAGE fans,

I got RAGE from the mac app store. Very crisp compared to 360. Very happy with my purchase. But, im getting some minor texture issues ; when I turn my mouse quick I get some textures streaming/pop-in. Is there a way to fix that on mac via console ? My specs :

Intel core duo 3.06
4 gig ram
GeForce 8800GS 512mb

In running the game 1920 x 1200
AA 4x
Vsync off
Cache on high
FA on high

I tested without AA and its no better.

It's unfortunately a side effect of the games texture system which streams in only exactly the visible parts of a texture rather than the entire texture.

The only options are either:

A - Set texture cache to 16384 x 16384 (large texture cache sets it to 8192 x 8192, small texture cache 4096 x 4096) but that requires at least 512 MB for the texture alone, excluding everything else (framebuffer, aa, meshes ...)
B - Very fast transcoding (6+ core CPU or GPU transcoding with eg. GTX 580) + game being installed to a drive with very fast acces times (DVD: ~150 ms, HDD: ~20 ms, SSD: ~0.5 ms, RAM: ~0.01 ms)
C - Ignore it

How do I set texture cache to 16k on the mac version ?
