PC players need to be patient. I can't remember a game that was flawless on release...

user scores on metacritic are always low the first couple of days, lol... its when all the trolls and haters take out their angst on the game. The real players and buyers of the game actually are still playing, and post their reviews shortly thereafter.

And glad to see rage making its way upto the top :) it had a score of 80 this morning for critic review, and its almost at 87!! I'd say by the time the review dust settles and all accounted for, it will hit 88-90 range :)

Gave it a 10 because it's a seriously amazing game. I've never been as amazed at the level design in a game as I have with this one. Most games have one or two cool spots, but this one has them around every turn. Definitely a new standard for people outside of ID Software ;)

I can remember games that were playable at launch though. And it wasn't too long ago that games were actually finished at launch, and only infrequent unforeseen bugs would get patched some time later. Nowadays, a game being buggy at launch is sadly the status quo. But this is really at a level beyond all other games I've played that had rough launches.

Apparently you didn't play Brink. :P Actually Brink was only good on PC. The only issue seems to be with PC and it's obviously not 100% id's fault as some people are playing perfectly fine on PC. Give it a day or two and things will work out. As far as I know, all console players are working fine with no issues which is more than you can say about some recent games released.

Games are insanely more complex now than they used to be... You'd be surprised at the huge amounts of time that actually go into looking into and fixing bugs behind the scenes. I read somewhere a while back that doom levels could be made in a single day. Now single levels can take anywhere from 6 months to a few years to complete. When games become more complex it's safe to say there are more things that "Could" go wrong.

Rage with some updates will be a great game on PC too, something that will not happen to Duke Nukem Forever. My biggest disappointment with the FPS genre to date
