I was just looking at how Rage is set to be and just finished playing Wolfenstein. The way both games are setup are well very similar. You have hub towns you move around get loot and upgrade the only difference is vehicles and universe. It's just that after a while Wolfenstein got boring and didn't have any resemblance to anything that Id could make. Don't get me wrong it was fun till like about three quarters through the game. It was just very repetitive
I know ID is probably taking this concept and refining it but I hope it doesn't fall apart later. I hope they show more than what they already have, to prove it isn't Wolfenstein. That game was very disappointing (my opinion). I just hated the fact that each time I am about to enter a building, I kill a bunch of enemies then after I spoke to someone and came out I had to kill them again. Its okay for a while but it gets annoying after a while. I hope they find a good balance to avoid the repetition or even avoid the enemies, because in Wolfenstein I mostly ended up doing that but would still end up in conflict with more than half of them.
