Raising Level Cap With New DLC

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:43 am

Just a quick question that this one has been wondering for awhile now. I've heard a rumour that the level cap will be raised like in Fallout. But, how will this work exactly? Say you're level 81, meaning you've mastered everything (Or close to everything not sure how it works). Then there's nothing else to level up..so you CAN'T level up. Meaning no more perks, no food for you, have a nice day, ect. ect. Does this mean new skills such as unarmed will be brought back?

You will gain perks in the new trees by using your transformation and its various powers. There will not be a level increase.

Indeed. Unless they add new skills(for example spear or unarmed) the level cap will not be increased.

So the skills will level up like normal but you won't gain any progress to your main level? What about if you are not at max level?

The level cap is purely mathematical. Technically, there is no level cap - you are only hindered by the fact, that you can only learn so much in Skyrim.
Bethesda would have to implement new skills and perks to learn to raise the cap. They've given us the vampire and werewolf perk-trees, but I don't think
they have anything to do with leveling up, am I right?

Do'Tzar just wants his hand-to-hand combat back. :(

The only way that they'll be able to increase the cap is to add a new skill. Each new skill tree would theoretically add about 10 levels, but closer to 8.5 levels (since every race starts off with 15 points in any given skill before modifiers.)

Does the classic "go to jail and raise your skills" trick still work?

Unless they add new skill as stated above, then it will be impossible to reach a new level

Somewhere it was said that they added acrobatics back, is this true?

I assume someone mistakenly thought the new perk trees were taken at level up, rather than through feeding, and figured more perks means more levels.

I haven't heard that. It also seems unlikely it will be back as a skill in Skyrim considering how it would affect leveling. That they have added some other way to increase jump height is more likely than adding acrobatics.

There isn't a formal levelcap in Skyrim. What we refer to as the level cap is simply the level you reach when all your skills reach 100 and there is no more experience to be gained.
