Note that I understand those that think of it as bad, (it is unbalanced at times)
but it can be good (apart from later when everything is very easy with the right or even mostly wrong perks)
random levels work for me =] (sometimes they are abit too random but a fair price for the endless replayability) - id rather start a new guy and go a different route than play the same guy to lvl 81
due to the way the game works but hey hoNO SPOILERS BOSS or TOUGH CHARACTERS ARE A GIVEN WITH QUESTS AT POINTS... no names given or details that are not varied anyway...
I did the third companion quest, end guy had a 2hander... was hard hitting and abit smarter than most (used block bash) but he fell on my blade after a hard yet overall simple fight. I got further on and my save was screwed so I had to load last savegame that worked (before start of 3rd quest it so happens)
SO i started and did it exactly the same as before at the same times... started the quest (id saved just before talking to one of the companions) and...
I did the quest again, enemies were mostly the same, some took a few more hits some took a few less (even with the same armour, yet an exception to one random had iron armour last time this time he had steel plate? mm more loot for me
im game if but abit perplexed, I then get to the end boss [censored] again, and he's rocking a crappy iron axe or torpor, and a dwarven shield... but someone taught this guy how to fight...I have 85 block and I play reserved.. i dont charge in and I don't sit back... im a smart fighter... but he still managed to bash me a few times, staggering my screen all over the show... and his iron axe (compared to elven 2hander last time) was hitting around the same kind of damage (higher one handed skill maybe?) but he lost after scoffing some health friendly foods...
But it brings me to my point, the level scaling seems set CLOSE to your level but not exact... sometimes it can be too hard (hence why developers say... too hard? go away and come back later it will be saved to the first time you entered it, unless you clear the location.
now many people don't like that.. and say its ruining it... that's fair enough and I can see why it would tick people off...
though for me... I thought that was amazing... annoying that I couldn't figure it out but amazing because I know when I get to lvl 80 odd... go away and come back to the world of RIM in a few months, il play it again and it will be VERY different next time round =]
Your thoughts? agreements? disagreements? pure egotistical flaming? or personal anologies of this subject?
hoping that this sheds some light for those confused with leveling... and some people after reading will think twice before they post a thread saying "this is why skyrim svcks" and proceed to say unbalanced levels don't work...
In life, you could get in a scrap with some big brawler down your local..... and win..
next week you could go down there and some small perky guy tries it too... and you wake up with your teeth missing...
do you then go to your mates and say.,.. "mate!, Fights are well unbalanced! someone that size shouldn't kick my ass this bad!"
