Rank system makes playing with friends cumbersome

Last night, our website (www.ZTGD.com) hosted a Brink Game Night. We had fun, but we couldn't do it how we wanted to and it became more than a little frustrating.

We wanted to go through the campaign together on co-op, but the rank system made it extremely difficult. We finally understood that the highest ranked member of the party had to host. Unfortunately, that person also had one of the worst internet connections. When we played a versus game with me as host, things ran very smoothly.

The rank system simply doesn't work for playing co-op with friends. Forcing us to rely on the connection of the highest ranked person is extremely limiting. There either need to be dedicated servers for the game or you need to fix the game such that there is third option for finding games: Any Rank (in addition to My Rank and My Rank and Higher). I know that Freeplay allows you to adjust force balancing, etc., but getting the settings just right took us three or four times. All we wanted to do was play.

Forcing gamers to set up a game, tweak settings, invite people, back out, reinvite, etc, etc, puts up a huge barrier to enjoyment.

I like Brink. I think that there are a lot of neat things in the game and, when playing with a group that is communicating and focused on the objectives, it hits on all cylinders. Please fix the multiplayer experience (both from a GUI and in-game perspective ) so we can actually get into the game faster and have fun.

Thank you.
