Rare use to be one of the greatest game developers. When they were with Nintendo they produced some of the best games ever. Perfect Dark (N64) to this day is my favourite first person shooter.

Banjo Kazooie and Tooie is an amazing game and one that I played for hundreds of hours

Donkey Knog 64 was fantastic and Diddy Kong Racing I always prefered to Mario Kart.

Since being bought by MS they have turned [censored], and being made to focus on kinect titles will kill them as a great gaming company. I wish MS left them with Nintendo

Oh. Thanks for posting part 3. They haven't added it to the playlist yet for some reason.

Why was Rare moved here? Hopefully a name change will happen as well.
Anyway, episode 3 on rare was good. Although I wonder if he missed some information. I've read developer interviews on Goldeneye about how they tried implementing windows, but failed. And that's why you could shoot people through windows, or something along those lines. And other "problems" that turned out to be good for the game.

I'm guessing they'll turn this thread into an all your history thread. They just need to take out Bethesda out of the title.

Apologies - I thought it was the same program from the other thread.

Fixed :bolt:

*sigh* I miss Jet Force Gemini. To this day I always check my Nintendo newsletters to see if they've added it to the Wii VC.

They won't. They won't ever.

But I still check.

I loved Rare. Perfect Dark is one of my favorite games of all time. I remember my friends, brother and I would team up against an army of bots on...dark skill I think it was called. Good times. Perfect Dark (the N64 version) was on sale in the live marketplace a while back, should of bought it...what the hell's wrong with me?

JFG was the perfect N64 game.

I currently have the main theme as my ringtone.

I'm bummed at how they skipped over most of the NES era. They made a lot of noteworthy great titles for that system which tended to be more original than what they started making during the SNES/N64 era. Snake Rattle n' Roll and Wizards & Warriors 3 are some of my favorite titles from them. Starting with DKC their games got a lot more hype, but they also started getting much more cookie cutter and played it too safe.

This is going to have such a sad final part.
