A rather interesting find in Skyrim

Was this intentional? Was it perhaps the bigger remains was already there but a unfortunate adventurer tried to take shelter? Or does this show a certain food chain?

I think the mammoth ate the guy inside, then the Argonian in the second picture ate the mammoth.

That's a pretty cool find. I would think the mammoth would be an herbivore (because of its teeth), but this is a Skyrim mammoth. They can be rather ornery.
Or maybe it was some drunken Nord who thought he'd try his hand at "mammoth tipping" and tipped it the wrong way.

Edit: Eeep! Ninja'd on the veggies.

It could be that the giants had a cruel streak and imprisoned someone in the bones of a mammoth?
No that doesnt make sense really, they like mammoths and there is a mammoth boneyard, and the sad giant by the dead mammoth, so I dont think theyd use the bones as utility.
Im stumped.

Unlikely, as then his skeleton would be under the part of the rib cage that is under the dirt, not inside the rib cage.

Like I mentioned, only other possibility is maybe an unfortunate traveler tried to take shelter for the night.

Maybe a storm was setting in so the guy killed a mammoth and used it for shelter... the storm buried him and he died inside the mammoth. years later after the ice melted... you found him.

Sounds the most probable.

Could be.
Its dark, you dont know where youre going, at least it provides some shelter.
Then the giant comes back from the pub, sees the trespasser and pushes the bones further into the ground so he's stuck.

Thats right, that scene was in snow too. And the tauntaun was dead, correct? (Hey come on, it has been a while since I watched the classics!)

I would think so reference wise since Bloodmoon and Skyrim had both Luke Skywalker easter eggs (Where his body is hanging upside down and the lightsaber on the ground.)

It was probably some guy who's girlfriend swore she dropped the ring right in front of the grazing Mammoth. Of course this ring means the world to her and she is one of those spoiled princess types, so her demands have to be met. So, he goes up to the mammoth, sticks his hand in it's mouth to retrieve the ring. Only the mammoth hicups and swallows the guy. The last words he hears as he rides the gullet down to the stomach is "Never mind dear, I found it!....Dear?.....Dear?...Where did you go? Don't hide from me, you know it makes my mother mad" The guy smiles as his last breath leaves his body.

And I thought the Mammoth TIpping theory was interesting.

But then what happened to him? Did he freeze to death? Was shot with an arrow? Ate something poisonous the day before? Was bitten by a snake?

Now that I think of it, it's quite possible. There's another reference to Star Wars in Bleakcoast cave, when there's a snow troll inside and a skeleton hanging upside down, with a sword laying beneath him on the ground.

Froze to death probably, but the Tundra is the least harshest place in Skyrim climate wise. Im no meteorologist so idk

Wow, this game is detailed!
Every few days something like this pops up and I think, wow I'm going to be playing this game for a long time (and I've been playing since release).

I prefer the game called Armed And Dangerous parody of it with a Rhino instead of a Tauntaun, that's hilarious.

Ah, that makes more sense; I thought the Star Wars thing was a bit loose.
